The Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group is the support group for people with adrenal failure and their families in the UK and Ireland. We aim to provide information and support to our members and to promote better medical understanding of this rare endocrine condition, working in co-operation with leading adrenal specialists.
Addison’s is a potentially life-threatening condition, requiring life-long treatment with steroid medication and other medical support. With the right balance of daily medication and good medical support, individuals with Addison's can expect to have a normal life span and to lead full and rewarding lives. But they are also likely to need emergency medical intervention to prevent a near-death adrenal crisis at some stage.
