Help us continue our work
Genetic Alliance UK is a small and impactful charity with a mighty mission. We work tirelessly with our member organisations to improve the lives of the 3.5 million people in the UK with a rare, genetic or undiagnosed condition.
We work with our membership organisations and senior decision makers in the NHS, the Government and Parliaments across the UK to advocate for people living with rare, genetic or undiagnosed conditions, campaigning for accurate and timely diagnosis, equitable access to treatments and well coordinated care. We make sure the voices and needs of our community are heard and reflected in rare disease legislation and healthcare policy.
Genetic Alliance UK member organisations provide just 5% of our income. We rely on charitable donations and grants from many areas to continue our vital work – including from kind individuals like you.
Your donation helps us:
- Provide unwavering support to our membership organisations – over 230 charities and patient groups – in everything that they do
- Campaign for and champion the rights and needs of people affected by rare, genetic and undiagnosed conditions through our Rare Disease UK campaign
- Publish transformative reports and recommendations that result in real change, across all areas of health and social care
- Be here for our SWAN UK community – the only dedicated family support network for children with undiagnosed genetic conditions
Thanks to you we can continue to be here for the 1 in 17 people with a genetic, rare or undiagnosed condition in the UK
Support our work
Help us continue our vital work supporting 3.5 million people living with a rare, genetic and undiagnosed condition.
Fundraise for us
No matter how big or small, your own fundraising event is a brilliant way to get people involved, raise awareness and generate donations for our vital cause. Whatever you choose to do, we’ll be here to support you all the way.
There are so many ways to organise your own fundraising, such as a coffee morning, community quiz night, virtual get-together, or another sponsored event. You could even use a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, as a reason to ask people to donate.
Collecting donations
One of the simplest ways to collect fundraising donations is via our Genetic Alliance UK JustGiving page.
We also have dedicated pages for our national awareness campaign Rare Disease UK, family support network SWAN UK and its national awareness day Undiagnosed Children’s Day. Loved ones can easily donate to your event and find out what you’re doing and all donations will come straight to us, including any Gift Aid.
If you would like your fundraising to support more than one charity at a time, we are also registered with GiveWheel. Create your fundraising page and choose the percentage of the money you raise that you would like to give to our work. This is a fantastic option if you would like to raise funds for the charity that provides you direct support, but you would also like to raise funds to support our work to drive systemic change in the NHS and government.
If you have any questions, or would like fundraising tips or advice, please contact us.
