Why your support matters
Genetic Alliance UK is a small and impactful charity with a mighty mission. We work tirelessly with our 250 member organisations to improve the lives of the 3.5 million people in the UK with a rare, genetic or undiagnosed condition.
We work with our membership organisations and senior decision makers in the NHS, the Government and Parliaments across the UK to advocate for people living with rare, genetic or undiagnosed conditions, campaigning for accurate and timely diagnosis, equitable access to treatments and well coordinated care. We make sure the voices and needs of our community are heard and reflected in rare disease legislation and healthcare policy.
Genetic Alliance UK member organisations provide just 5% of our income. We rely on generous people (like you!) and organisations to fund our work.
Your support helps us to:
- Provide unwavering support to our membership organisations – over 250 charities and patient groups.
- Campaign for and champion the rights and needs of people affected by rare, genetic and undiagnosed conditions through our Rare Disease UK campaign
- Publish transformative reports and recommendations that result in real change, across all areas of health and social care
- Be here for our SWAN UK community – the only dedicated family support network for children with undiagnosed genetic conditions
Thanks to you our alliance can work together improve the lives of the 1 in 17 people in the UK living with a genetic, rare or undiagnosed condition.
Fundraise for us
Whether you’re organising a coffee morning, putting on your trainers, hosting a quiz, hiking up a mountain or doing something completely different of your own, we’ll be there to support you all the way.
Taking on a challenge?
Taking part in an organised challenge event, or doing a run/walk/cycle/climb of your own? One of the simplest ways of fundraising is via Genetic Alliance UK’s JustGiving Page . All you have to do when you land on that page is click ‘Start Fundraising’, fill in your page details, share with everyone you know, and you’re on your way!
If you want to raise for more than one charity at a time (maybe for Genetic Alliance UK and one of our member organisations?) you can do this via our page on GiveWheel.

Wanting to pay in monies you have raised or collected?
Thank you for raising funds for Genetic Alliance UK – you are incredible!
If you’ve used JustGiving or GiveWheel then we’ll get your funds (including Gift Aid) automatically.
If you’re ready to pay in monies that you’ve raised from your workplace, in your community or from your own event, then the simplest way to pay this in is via our Donate Page. Just tick the box ‘I am paying in fundraising or a collection’ or ‘This donation is from an organisation’).
Other ways to pay in your funds:
- Via BACS – please email us and we will send you our bank details.
- Via cheque, if required – please make the cheque payable to ‘Genetic Alliance UK’ and send to: Genetic Alliance UK, 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE (please include how the money was raised with your contact details so we can send you a well deserved thank you letter). Please note our team mostly work from home to reduce office costs, so there may be a delay in our response.
Please don’t send physical cash as we’re unable to accept cash donations, and your funds may not reach us.
