SWAN UK launches new animations
What does it mean to have a genetic condition, how are genetic conditions diagnosed and why do some genetic conditions remain undiagnosed? Watch our animations to find out.
Having a child with an undiagnosed genetic condition can feel isolating and lonely. Families often worry about what the future holds.
It is our hope that our new animations will help families whose children have a suspected genetic condition, but no diagnosis.
In producing these videos we worked with families who have experience of the uncertainty and myriad of challenges that having a child with an undiagnosed genetic condition can bring. Children who have an undiagnosed genetic condition, and their families, can be impacted in a variety of ways and we know that it can feel overwhelming. We hope that these animations will offer practical information and let them know that they are not alone and have a place in the SWAN UK community.
Please share our animations to help us reach out to more families who need our support. Watch the first of our animations, ‘What is a genetic condition?’ below.
SWAN UK (Syndromes Without A Name) is the only support community in the UK for families of children with undiagnosed genetic conditions, also known as syndromes without a name.
SWAN has been so important to our family as the only place where we could find other undiagnosed children and their parents.
